Dan Koh (MA-03)
A descendant of Lebanese immigrants to Lawrence and Korean immigrants, Dan is dedicated to preserving the American Dream that made his own story possible. As a child, Dan struggled and overcame the challenges of ADHD and dedicated himself to helping others. As Chief of Staff to Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Dan managed 18,000 employees and a $3 billion budget during one of the most prosperous four-year stretches in Boston’s history.
Previously, Dan served as Chief of Staff to Arianna Huffington, Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post. In this role, Dan leveraged the news organization’s vast reach to raise over $5 million for nonprofits focused on women’s issues, job creation and training, and other progressive causes. Dan also served as an advisor to Boston Mayor Tom Menino and an intern for Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy.
Dan will bring his high-energy, never-quit attitude to D.C. to work on behalf of the people of the Third Congressional District. Dan believes our diversity should be celebrated and that now more than ever we need to fight for the American Dream.
A native of Andover, MA, Dan holds a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was elected President of his section and met his wife Amy. Amy currently works as associate general counsel at a technology startup that has created more than 150 new jobs. Dan and Amy are both avid runners, having completed 27 marathons together.
