AAPI Victory Fund Congratulates Clinton on Upcoming Nomination

WASHINGTON–Following the primary election results from California and other states this week, the AAPI Victory Fund released a statement of support for Secretary Hillary Clinton's impending nomination to be President of the United States. The Victory Fund endorsed Sec. Clinton June 2, before the California primary."Sec. Clinton's nomination is undoubtedly historic, not only because she is the first woman to be nominated for president, but because she has united diverse communities across the country in a movement toward victory. The AAPI Victory Fund endorsed Sec. Clinton because she is a long-standing advocate for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and her continued outreach to our community allows us to mobilize and expand the electorate towards November. This election is particularly defining because voter will choose between two very different candidates, but the choice for AAPI voters is clear. Sec. Clinton was the first and only presidential candidate to meaningfully engage with our community. It is now our job to mobilize, support, and inspire AAPI voters to make an easy choice for the next president of the United States - Hillary Clinton."Heading toward the November general election, the Victory Fund is working with our progressive partners to mobilize and influence Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders voters in key battleground states where growing AAPI populations could be the margin of victory.
