AAPI Victory Fund on 50 Days Until Midterms

WASHINGTON – Heading into the final 50 days until the midterm elections, AAPI Victory Fund issued the following statement reflecting on what Democrats need to do to garner the vote of the nation’s fastest-growing demographic.

AAPI Victory Fund President and CEO Brad Jenkins issued the following statement:

“With 50 days until the midterm elections, we are at a crossroads where Democrats can either dedicate their time and resources and focus their outreach to mobilizing the 23-million-strong AAPI electorate, or they could continue to ignore our community while the future of our democracy is at stake. With 34 Senate seats, 435 House of Representative seats, and 36 Governorships  up for grabs, this moment is too important to stay complacent. AAPIs are the fastest-growing demographic but with very little investment from the Democrats, we need to advocate for ourselves and our community. Following record-high turnout in the 2020 election, it is clear that the AAPI electorate has the power to shape critical elections and be the margin of victory in key states.”

AAPI Victory Fund National Political Director Shehn Datta issued the following statement:

“The future of our democracy is hanging by a thread. Headed into Election Day, the AAPI Victory Fund is excited to connect with voters on key issues facing this country. We need to pass progressive policies that push toward a brighter tomorrow - with economic, racial, and climate justice at the forefront, issues which all motivate the AANHPI community. We must connect with voters, and talk about abortion access, sensible climate solutions, gun violence prevention in our communities, and what a healthy democracy looks like. Conversations with voters - on the issues - is the only way to mobilize the 23-million-strong AAPI electorate to the ballot box this year. We only have less than two months left and we can’t stay complacent when it comes to outreach.”
