AAPI Victory Fund Endorses U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) for Re-Election

WASHINGTON — This morning, AAPI Victory Fund announced its endorsement of U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) for re-election. As a dedicated advocate for all Nevadans, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto has pledged to prioritize concerns near and dear to Nevada’s AAPI and immigrant communities—such as co-sponsoring the Covid-19 Hate Crimes Act as well as supporting legislation that provides relief for Nevada’s historically disenfranchised communities.

AAPI Victory Fund President Brad Jenkins issued the following statement:

“We at AAPI Victory Fund are honored to endorse U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto for re-election ahead of this year’s midterms. Sen. Cortez Masto’s strong support of Nevada’s AAPI, immigrant, and working-class communities closely aligns with AAPI Victory Fund’s mission to mobilize AAPI voters to the ballot box and, in a state in which the AAPI community is growing the fastest, we are fortunate to call Sen. Cortez Masto an ally.”

“Sen. Cortez Masto’s unwavering allyship and commitment to provide equity and relief to Nevada’s AAPI and immigrant communities has undoubtedly accelerated the engagement of Nevada’s AAPI electorate. Sen. Cortez Masto is committed to a diverse staff and working with AAPI groups on issues they are passionate about. We have full confidence that Sen. Cortez Masto will continue to advance economic and social equality in Nevada, and prioritize the prosperity of all those she represents when re-elected.”

Nevada AAPI Community and Business Leader Tim Wong issued the following statement:

“I am proud to endorse U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto as she has worked to protect immigrants in Nevada’s AAPI communities, supported small businesses impacted by the pandemic, and passed legislation to combat anti-Asian hate crimes.”

Nevada State Senator Catherine Cortez Masto issued the following statement:

“The many different AAPI communities in Nevada are vibrant, essential parts of our state. Throughout my career I have worked to support and protect AAPI families, businesses, and workers, delivering critical resources during the pandemic and standing up against racism targeting these communities. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with our local AAPI leaders and the broader communities, making sure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
